My name is Jordan, owner of Black Creek Doodles. Black Creek Doodles is located in Mechanicsville, near Richmond, VA, where I live with my husband, Scott, and our 3 wonderful boys. Our dogs are not just pets, but a part of our family. My husband likes to call them my entourage, because wherever I go, they are always close behind me.
I have always been a dog lover, but my interest in breeding did not begin until I met Scott. Scott grew up in the breeding world, as his mother was, and still is, an incredibly skilled and prominent large doodle breeder here in Virginia. From the moment I was introduced to the doodles at Scott's Mom's, I was hooked. I knew that's what I wanted to do at some point in my life.
At the time, I was serving in the U.S. Navy, and had to hold off on my long-term goal of breeding doodles. After my children were born and my husband was well established in his own business, it was time!
I began by learning the best breeding techniques and what goes into making a superior puppy. I was privileged to learn from the best of the best. Scott's Mom has taught me a lot about genetics, dog and puppy wellness and care, and just general love for doing what you do - and doing it the best way possible.

Which breed is right for you? I grew up with small dogs, which set me on a quest to find the best mini doodle breeds. Ultimately, this led me to Havapoos and Cavapoos. They are very similar, however there are some differences.
Havapoos are cuddly, fluffy, adorable companions. They are well-suited for families with children, singles and seniors alike. They do well in apartments or houses, with or without yards. They are affectionate, smart, and easy to train. Their very non-shed coats make them an excellent choice for people with allergies as neither the Havanese nor the Poodle sheds.
Havapoos are moderately active, and do not require nearly as much exercise as the larger doodles, which makes them the perfect pet. They still need to go outside to play, and love to go for walks and to be part of the action, but they do not need hours of exercise. They will need grooming about every 2-3 months.
Cavapoos are the best of both parents in one adorable package. The Cavalier King Charles is among the top shedders and is known to have some health problems. Mixing them with the Poodle results in a gorgeous, healthy dog with Cavalier qualities in a low to non-shed coat. Like all doodle breeds, Cavapoos learn quickly and are highly trainable.
Cavapoos also do well with families, singles, and seniors. However, they thrive on human companionship and would not be suited for those planning to leave them alone while at work or for long periods of time. They need moderate exercise, like the Havapoo, and are happy with just one walk per day. Cavapoos have a soft, curly or wavy coat that needs to be groomed every 6-8 weeks.
We are committed to breeding the best puppies with fully vetted and genetically-tested parents. We do not want to just provide you with a dog, our goal is to give you with the best companion for your family without the worry of allergies or the financial burden of poor breeding.
From the time our puppies are born until the time they are placed in their forever homes, they are loved and cherished as if they were our own children. We are focused on providing you with an excellent temperament, well-socialized, top quality dog to thrive with you and your family for years to come!
